Velocity Legal Recognised in the AFR Best Places to Work 2026 List

Key Insights
  • The AFR named Velocity Legal a finalist in Best Places to Work 2026 for professional services.

  • There were only nine professional services firms (and two law firms) that made the list.

  • This recognition reflects the environment we continue to build for our team. That environment enables our team to deliver excellent advice to our clients.

The Australian Financial Review has named Velocity Legal a finalist in its Best Places to Work 2026 list for professional services.

This recognition reflects the culture our team helps build every day. The AFR says the list recognises organisations that are pioneering new ways of working and pushing boundaries in workplace policies and practices.

In the professional services category, the AFR named nine finalists. Velocity Legal was one of two law firms on that list.

Why this matters to clients

At Velocity Legal, workplace culture shapes client service. When we give our team the support, trust, and autonomy to do strong work, clients see the difference.

They see it in the quality of our legal work. They see it in how we respond, how we communicate, and how we keep matters moving. They also see it in the way one accountable expert leads the matter from start to finish and explains what comes next in plain English.

We build our internal environment with that in mind. We remove friction where we can, invest in our people, and create the conditions for our lawyers to do focused, practical work.

How we support our team

We support our people through programs that help them grow, stay well, and build strong connections across the firm. These include:

  • Level Up Program: each team member has a budget of $5,000 each year to spend on professional development;
  • Annual Team Retreat: the whole team attends. Recent destinations include Seoul, Bali, Tokyo, Singapore, and Thailand;
  • Wellness Program: regular activities include massages, yoga, meditation, breathwork, and ergonomic;
  • Charity and Volunteering: we donate 1% of profit each year to a charity our team chooses;
  • Breakfast and Snacks: we keep the office stocked with breakfast, fruit, and snacks;
  • VL Days: eligible team members receive an extra week of annual leave each year; and
  • Paid Parental Leave: we offer up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave and support flexibility when parents return to work.

Recognition that reflects our people

This recognition reflects the people who shape Velocity Legal every day. Our team brings care, rigour, and good judgement to their work. They support each other, keep raising the standard, and stay focused on what clients need.

We also treat this recognition as a prompt to keep improving. We want Velocity Legal to remain a place where good people can do meaningful work, grow in their careers, and contribute to a strong, supportive culture.

We thank our team for the way they build this firm. We also thank our clients and professional network for the trust they place in us.
