Sascha Kenny has been recognised by Doyle's Guide as one of Victoria's Rising Star in Commercial Litigation & Insolvency Law for 2025.
We’re proud to share that Senior Associate Sascha Kenny has been recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a Rising Star in Commercial Litigation and Insolvency Law.
This recognition reflects Sascha’s growing reputation among peers, clients and industry stakeholders for navigating complex insolvency matters with commercial clarity and precision. Whether acting for directors, creditors, insolvency practitioners, or distressed businesses, his advice is anchored on understanding his clients, evaluating risk and determining the best pathway forward, whether it be restructuring, managed wind-downs, asset recovery, or dispute resolution.
Insolvency matters are rarely straightforward. They often involve multiple stakeholders, urgent timelines, regulatory scrutiny, and escalating costs. Sascha is trusted by clients to cut through the complexity and commercial uncertainty without incurring unnecessary costs.
In the past 12 months, Sascha has represented a leading bankruptcy trustee in pursuing breaches of the Bankruptcy Act by numerous related parties across multiple Australian jurisdictions. Critically, the trustee required the preparation of an ex parte application in the Federal Court for urgent freezing orders to prevent further dissipation of assets. Sascha’s strategic approach helped deliver a strong pre-trial settlement, maximising creditor returns while avoiding prolonged litigation.
Sascha also acts for incorporated entities focused on promoting the interests of marginalised community members. He has successfully acted for one such entity in resisting a State Government application for statutory management that would have been against the interests of the entity’s members. The application was dismissed in full, costs were awarded, and the client’s right to self-determination was preserved. Here, his ability to navigate the unique leadership structures and cultural sensitivities of these types or organisations has proven effective in mounting effective, context-driven defences.
These kinds of matters highlight the value Sascha brings to the table: the ability to balance legal risk with commercial outcomes, collaborate under pressure, and drive practical solutions in dynamic, high-stakes settings.
We’re thrilled to see Sascha Kenny acknowledged amongst Australia’s up-and-coming commercial litigation and insolvency lawyers. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.
